Anybody else like me ? I don't eat much at all (not anorexic).?

Question:
Sometimes even a small amount of food makes me feel very tired afterwards. Came from working 5 months last year, always on my feet, half an hour lunch break or none at all..(yeah..lost a lot of weight and took loads of vitamins). Did not used to be like that before. But food makes me feel so drowsy now.even the "light" kind. salads..

Any expert about that or comments/views ?? similar experiences ?

Or am I just weird as usual :-))!

Answers:
I'm no expert I'm afraid, but it sounds like your body has put a system in place to force you to slow down so you can properly digest food. Approximately 1/3 of the energy in food is used by our body for digestion. If you spent a long tme on your feet and where not eating much your body may have wanted to maximise on the efficiency of its digestion and so slowed down other body processes; his may make you feel sluggish.

Again, Isabelle, I an NOT a nutritionist this is just conjecture

doctor!

no, you are fine. I'm kinda the same way, but you might want to check with a Dr.

I would see the Doc. he should know what to do..i don't want to give you wrong advice!

Just wicked fucked up it's ok that you're wierd. I would say to kill yourself but the alck of eating will do it for you. Way to be anorexic.

umm. maybe your just unusual. maybe from the vitamins you've become drowsy after eating, so try skipping the vitamins and eat a good amount of food, check if you feel drowsy or not I'm always on the go, and have little time to eat. Sometimes i have no time to eat at all. From this my appetite has shrunk, and I don't eat as much as I used to. I also lost about 60 pounds. It's just that your stomach isn't used to big meals, after having small meals.

Check with a doctor. In the mean time try and stay on a regular diet no matter how tired it makes you.

Your body's gotten so used to functioning on whatever food you're able to give it. This is temporary. Eat more regularily and, in time, this will go away.

well just a thought but your stomach is a muscal and can and does shrink so if you have in a sence trained you body not to eat weather you intended to or not. and u were taking vitamens then more then likely your body got to thinking that it was getting nutrience from that tiny pill. So now when you eat your body has to work hard to digest the food. something most people dont think of as being hard to do however if it hasnt done it in a while it could be hard to do.
I know some of this as i had anorexia for a while and once u train not only your body but brain into thinking you dont want or need some thing you have to retrain it to do the oppisite.
hope this helps All I can say is, since this youqa.com thing started my eating habits have changed. I eat a lot of burned toast now - I put the bread in, answer some questions and the next thing you know the smoke alarm goes off.

Seriously, unless I'm outside I now get very sleepy after eating. So I blame it on bad air.

p.s. you could be weird too but that's ok! You may want to consider seeing doctor if you're eating much less and less as time passes by without any change in your daily routine of physical activities.

I know as a fact that the obese will tend to eat more as time passes because body/mind thinks that they are hungry eventhough they are really due to physical abundance calories from fat and etc. It's just that when you eat, your body learns the pattern of it and adopt to be like that. Typically this process can take from at least a month or two to far as 6 months for body to get used to. It all depends on people's mind/physical level of it.

I would say same pattern will apply to anorexic or potentially anorexic people. So if it's something like that, I want you to consult doctor, NOW! You are perfect! But please check your diabetic level!
