36wks pregnant with several herniated discs can giving birth cause more problems for my back?

Question: I am 36 1/2 weeks pregnant, I was in a head on car accident a year ago and have several herniated discs from my neck to my lower back, as well as tears and bulging discs, when the pelvis opens for the baby, and all the pushing you do durring labor cause the discs more herniation and give me more pain and trouble then i already have?

Answers:
I imagine it would. I have crushed and displaced disks in my back and my doctor has recommended I not have children to prevent aggravation of my condition.

yes, your dr (ob)should be the one concerned, didnt he refer you to another dr? id be concerned since there is so much stress on your lower back---------from carrying the baby to giving birth---
