Can you neosporin on a new ear peircing?

Question:
I got my ears peirced on Sunday and today is wednesday, I was wondering if it is ok to use neosporin for infection in the peirced hole?

Answers:
you should google body piercing after care. Most sites say not to use alcohol or peroxide. THey can actually kill the skin cells at the wound site. I found a sea salt water solution (used on my belly button) healed the fastest and with the least amount of pain. Sea salt can be purchased at a health food store for nearly nothing -- much less than a triple antibiotic ointment. There are alot of great piercing after care sites. Make sure they are accredited and licenced.

yes.also try proxide.that works better

Yes, just don't take the earrings out. Put some neosporin on the posts, after cleaning with alcohol or peroxide, and twist them back and forth until the neosporin gets inside the hole. dont use neosporin use rubbing alcohol

I think the first two answers meant Hydrogen-peroxide. That is an excellent home remedy to clean any type of wound. Use a Q-tip, dip it cleaning front and back (using several q-tips). Then apply the neosporin. Clean them every night. About a week should do it.

witch hazel is the best thing to use for newly peirced ears yes but if it hurts and it is red take it off so it will get infected you can also put proxide

I have done it before. I took the earring out and coated the entire shaft in it and put it back in it worked great
