My glands on one side is swollen and feel sick?

Question: I went to the doctor he said I didn’t have too much of a temperature my wisdom teeth are coming through but I didn’t get a clear answer what was wrong he said I shouldn’t go to work for the next two or three day and wrote a dr. cert. but I don’t know If I got the flu or an infection.

Answers:
If he wasn't concerned then it is probably just a localised reaction to a simple viral infection. More serious viral infections include Cytomegalovirus (CMV) or Infectios Mononucleosis (also known as IM or glandular fever) caused by Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). A blood test should sort out these two, as there are specific tests for them. It could also be mumps, although this is unlikely to be missed bt your doctor as the swelling is large und distinctive.
