Can anyone help me?

Question:
ok I was doing gymnastics at cheerleading practice one day and I landed wrong on my ankle and fell. It didnt hurt that bad so I tried to do my skill again. It hurt like heck!! I can walk on it a little, but it is always stinging, and when I move it it cracks a little and I know its not broke, I am going to the doctor in 3 days, but I just would like any suggestions on how to take care of it until I go to the doctor.

Answers:
Rest your foot! Don't walk on it, or put pressure on it - hop if you have to - that's what I did when I twisted my ankle. If you have swelling, it helps to keep the foot up at an angle - ie. if you're lying on the couch, rest your ankle on the arm rest - just a little elevated. Also, you can tie a bandage around your ankle, it prevents you from moving your ankle, thus causing more pain and damage. I hope your ankle heals soon though! Good luck!

Other Answers:
Ice to reduce swelling then heat.

I have a sprained ankle, and the doctor told me to keep it elevated and put ice on it. Hope you feel better soon! Sounds like you sprained it, try not to do to much on it and put ice on it as much as possible..

stay off of it. wrap it in an ace bandage to immobilize it. Definately no gymnastics. ice for swelling

put some Bengay on it massage it and don't touch it.. try to rest don't try to put any pressure on it. :P Glad to hear you're going to the doctor though :P

wrap it ice it for 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off.. unless you have a towel on then maybe 15 mins.. keep it elevated too.. try to keep it straight out or higher than your heart.. the blood will pump slower there and not hurt as much.

Rest your ankle as much as you can. That'll probably be the most important thing you could do.

Aside from that, I suggest elevation and ice. Put your ankle on a pile of pillows or something and apply an ice pack. That will keep the swelling down and keep the circulation going.

Ice and Ibuprofen
Stay off it if you can a little
And get an ankle brace.

you probably just sprained it, wrap it up, ice it, and stay off of it. I know how you feel-I just hyperextended my knee in gymnastics. It hurts a lot too Sounds like a sprain. It's called RICE

1.REST. stay off of it.
2.ICE. should be applied at 20 minute intervals every hour or so to reduce swelling.
3.COMPRESSION. Wrap it with a bandage.
4.ELEVATION. Lay in bed or on couch with a pillow or something under it.
