As a redhead, i can only empathize with your girl. Before i actually got smart and realized that my chances of tanning would be, well, near zero, i used to burn severely. The only relief i would find was with Solarcaine Medicated Spray (Solarcaine now also have a spray with Aloe.) It's the best! I also used yoghurt and it helped.
Here are some Helpful Sunburn Pain Relief Tips:
If the sunburn is severe and she is blistering, feel faint, or nauseous: see a doctor immediately.
For Sunburn Relief apply natural aloe vera gel every 4 hours.
Consume 32 oz. of water initially and 8 oz. every hour.
Take a cool bath for sunburn relief, and don't use bath salts, oil, or bubble bath.
Saturate a washcloth with whole milk, and apply to affected area. Or just take a milk bath, the ultimate for sunburn relief.
More Sunburn Pain Relief Tips From Users:
For sunburn relief use a combination of vinegar and ice water mixed in a bowl. Using a washcloth, hold it to the affected area. Repeat this process for about 30-45 minutes. Then layer on 100% aloe vera gel. The first application of aloe should be rubbed in, and then layer it on top like a mask.
Aloe vera gel works great for sunburn pain relief. Along with aloe apply a moisturizer with coconut oil, alternating every few hours. Also for sunburn relief drink a lot of water, a liter of water within an hour of recognizing the burn. Put aloe gel on once or twice when you get home and at night before bed, and the next morning.
Good luck!

My mom always used vinegar on us when we were growing up. She may smell like a pickle but it really does help.
Get some Aloe gel, but be sure it doesn't contain alcohol since that will dry out the skin. She will be feeling better in a day or two. Desitin helps. Aloe lotion helps. Creams to soften the skin do NOT help.
aloe gel or try a used tea bag and rub it on the burn
aloe vera will help with the pain and make the burn fade faster
Hope she feels better soon :)
My mother used to rub vinegar on us, and it prevented us from peeling and took the burning away. Ocean Potion's Alovera Gel.leave it in the frige and i works for me!
You can get aloe vera gel from the chemist, if you put it in the fridge, its so nice and cold when it goes on. takes the sting out.
bath her in vinegar or oatmeal, you can also make a paste of oatmeal and water. or try some after burn aloe gel, it kind of numbs the pain, ocean potion makes a great product for this

Aloe Vera will help keep the burns cool and protected. In the future, make sure that she wears sunscreen, a hat, and clothing when she's outside to prevent further burns. Yes I know of a home Remedy,I my self am very fair skin and found that if you ice down the area right as soon as you get home then put a large amount of aloe on and keep it on very time it it drys for the 1st week it will help with the pain and it will help it go away.I also helps to sleep with no shirttuching the burn spots in the ac. I hope this helps you and I hope that your daughter feels better soon. Oh yes make sure you put on sun block spf 30 every time you go ut to keep the skin from burning all over agen.
There is this green can of stuff you can get at Walgreen's.I can't remember the name.something like aloecaine.anyway it has aloe and a numbing agent. You spray it on. It's nice and hold and it numbs the sunburn.
i used vasoline lotion with aloe, in a green bottle. it worked REALLY well for me...and for churchmusicgirl..i think i know what im talking about since i own it..its a LOTION, not actual vasoline
The vineagar fix works well for me. Mom would soak an old washcloth in vineagar and let it sit on the burn for a few minutes. Aloe, aloe vera, Solarcaine, all good stuff too.
Just a word of reminder-warning - do NOT put butter or anything that is like a gel (vaseline-like) on the sunburn UNLESS it says it is for sunburn treatment. (I've never heard of a vaseline product for sunburn, but I could be wrong.) Things like this actually trap the heat in the lower layers of the skin and cause more damage.
I have heard of vinegar, milk on a wash cloth, hemorrhoid cream, or Noxzema Aloe works well, the real stuff from a plant, not something you buy in a tube.
Sunburn is bad and why didn't you use sunblock for protection. lotions with aloe will help her, and using cotton balls to apply will give relief, and remember to use sunblock next.
If the sunburn is blistered or blistering a trip to the doctor and a prescription for silvadine cream will help. It is one of many ointments used for burn patients. I had to use it when I was in my teens and got a really nasty sunburn.
Don't laugh - the plain good old yoghurt is the best remedy for sunburns. I had identical problems for so many times, and yoghurt has always helped.
Put the yoghurt on the cotton bud (larger one, size of the fist) and start spreading it easily and slowly over the burn. In 15-20 minutes the pain is eased, and the skin is relieved. Take off the old layer of yoghurt with another cotton bud of the same size as the previous one, but soaked with water, and then put another layer of yoghurt. After another 15-20 minutes, remove it the same way as the previous one, and then put aloe vera.
