Answers:
Yes, it is possible, people have died by being in the same restaurant where shrimp was served.

""A 29-year-old tourist vísited a restaurant with her spouse and ordered and consumed a meal of chicken. Just as the couple were about lo leave the restaurant, a waiter went past their table carrying a hot, steaming, sizzling platter of shrimp "fajitas". lt is part of the ambience that is intentionally fostered in such restaurants to transport steaming seafood on a hot platter past the guests: the aroma of the food and the sizzling noise produced often fills the entire dining room within seconds. On this occasion, immediately the tourist inhaled the vapour, she became dyspnoeic and wheezy and had to use the salbutamol inhaler she normally carried with her in her handbag. Her condition did not improve and, soon afterwards, she suddenly collapsed on the floor, lost conscíousness and vomited profusely. All resuscitative measures, includíng those subsequently ínstituted by the ambulance team called to the restaurant, proved futile."
No, you need to eat it or touch it to have that reaction
