My daughter was plagued with head lice for about 3 years. I was so disgusted. I paid so much money to get rid of them. I took her to the doctor to get the prescription Lindane. I cut her hair. I did everything and it still didn't work. Then one day, my friend showed me how to get rid of them. First you need to recognize what you are actually looking for. I thought I was just looking for bugs and nits. I looked through the hair and saw nothing until she pointed out the SHAFT of hair close to the scalp. I was amazed how tiny the babies (lice) were. Now I know what I am looking for.

Most people keep getting head lice because they don't realize that it is not just a simple process of washing the hair and rinsing it out. There are three (3) steps to getting rid of lice. Lice don't care about stuffed animals and mattresses that much.. still clean everything.

The point is. THEY LIKE HAIR!!

Here is the three steps

1.) Wash and clean everything. hair, clothes, bedding, couches, carpets, car.. etc..

2.) Comb out nits.. You MUST find a really good head lice comb. There is a RED one. I forget the name but it has two sizes of tongs for thick and thin hair.

Anyhow. no matter how hard you try, you will NOT find every nit on your child's head. unfortunately. this is why step #3 is important

3.) You must recognize what you are looking for.. THE TINY BABIES (from the nits) that return in 7 to 10 days.. if you stay on top of this step.. you will be fine. So make sure you follow up and repeat step #1 and #2 again and perhaps a few more times.

You have to stay on top of head lice and you will get rid of them.

Lastly, I made my daughter wear hair gel to school everyday. She has had no more problems with head lice.

Rid X, mayonaise, and if those don't work. put 10 drops of Tea Tree oil in your shampoo. That will certainly get rid of them.

just using a shampoo everyday will do. but in case it doesn't work, try using a conditioner as well. i haven't actually tried it yet but my friends say that VASELINE shampoo or HEAD AND SHOULDERS worked for them. hope this one will count.
wait.., do you have these brands in your country? Simple! When my child got lice and none of the expensive chemical shampoos/treatments worked I got a tip off the internet. Here's what to do. It really works!

Buy some olive oil. Saturate the scalp and hair with it. Really get it all over. Wrap head in plastic wrap or a shower cap or something like that. Leave on as long as you can. I'd say a couple of hours. It will drown them. The olive oil isn't bad to get out of the hair. Just wash it several times.

Best of luck to you. Lice are a real pain!
