Anyway besides the docter's?

Question:
I somehow manage to pop the knuckle of my middle finger out and I think it popped itself back in. Now its crooked and the bottom of the finger(where the knuckle it) is blue-ish. I cant form a straight finger at all with it. I can bend it, but it gives me a shocking pain. So, what can I do to it without going to the docter's?

Answers:
The bone may have 'popped' back in, but the surrounding tissues, and possibly a tendon if you can't bend it, and a nerve if you have shooting pain are involved. I would definitely see an orthopedic Dr and it shouldn't be a big deal. I would take antinflammatories, Advil or Aleve in the meanwhile so the tissues can start to heal. Ice if it's swollen. Those will help the pain.
You don't want to end up with a permanently crooked finger, as it may heal incorrectly.
u did nt do a good job then.. its probably not set right. go to the doc or its going to stay that way and always cause you problems. trust me, happened to me.. major arthritis
Based upon your description, you really have no choice BUT to GO TO THE DOCTOR, if you want your finger to work again. It sounds like you've compromised your vascular supply to that finger - that's why its turning blue. You may have damaged the nerves as well.

I usually don't say this, because people misuse the ER all the time, but I'd go to your nearest emergency department right now if I were you.
The only really good thing doctors can do is set bones. so go get it fixed, soon!
