my baby ate a coin what can i do?

Kids are like piggy banks. What goes in one end comes out the other.
My baby (age 3) swallowed a tiny metal key to his sister's diary. Boy was that funny. We took him to the ER where the x-ray showed the key in his stomach. The doctor told us not to worry, the key was small and would pass with no problem in a few days.
If you want the coin back you will have to collect baby's doo doo, then wash it to uncover the coin. If your baby is big enough then the coin should pass with no problem. HOWEVER I'd still recommend consulting a physician. Best to have an expert evaluate the situation.
Above all, don't panic. Babies have been swallowing things since they were invented.

If it was a penny, get thee to a hospital. Because pennies are not copper but a zinc amalgam, when it hits the acid in the stomach it releases a toxin.
Wait till he or she poops and put it back in your piggy bank
Nothing.just wait.
exlax, time, some icecream.
nothing just wait
it will come out
Wait until it poos and give it anti bacterial stuff.
nothing
Just wait, your lil one should pass it.you need to make sure though - gross I know.but it's reality..
HOSPITAL. Why would you wait for an answer on here?
let nature take its course
Uhmmm. Your really asking this question?
let it pass
Although it seems to have went down, you should go get an x-ray to make sure it's not stuck somewhere inside. That could be a lot of problems. Check it out.
my daugheter swallowed one like a month ago.call her doctor .it shouldnt be a big deal if i comes out the way its suppose to lol
It depends on the coin.
Older coins and pennies contain toxins, non-US coins may also.
If it is a regular dime or nickel don't worry about it.
Otherwise you may want to get to a hospital.
Again though, I am not a licensed doctor and this cannot be interpreted as medical advice.
wait next to his ***, happened to my dog, he survived

my dog
i would get them to the hospital.they proberly tell u it will hopefully come out the other end,but u never know it could lodge itself some where.and some advice babys and toddlers love putting things in the mouths so i would suggest u dont leave things where they can reach emmmmmmmmmm
let the coin pass through. if more comes out then your baby swallowed, then i would worry (i.e. a quarter becomes two dimes and a nickel)
The coin will pass through their digestive tract in a few days at most. Depending on the diameter of the coin one concern would be if there was damage to the esophagus. Penny, dime. no problem. Nickel or QUARTER, it might've been a little rough going down.
Now the really gross part. Rather than letting them 'go' in the toilet, you'll need to 'screen' their waste in a bucket until you've found the coin.
On the lighter side, if they swallowed a dime and only 2 pennies come out, you're kid has a definite future with the IRS.
If it was a small coin, size, not denomination, and he is suffering no ill effects, it will pass. Most likely if it went down his throat, it will come out the other end just as easily. If you have the insurance or the money, an x-ray certainly will not hurt
You should not ask question.Better visit hospital & just now please.

the good thing about babies.they are set up with automatic withdrawal..kinda like the bank, so wait until the withdrawal posts..btw using your kids as piggy banks.not the best idea
