I damaged vocal cords, i think? baby backheaded by neck and my voice seems to be damaged since. Went to ENT?

Question:
surgeon and every thing if fine on that front. Can my voice be retrained, as I used to sing soprano and now its a lot deeper, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answers:
Your voice will return to normal within a few weeks if you rest it.
The pressure applied by the back of your baby's head is not enough to permanently damage your cords. Most probably, there is some inflammation around your arytenoid cartilage .This will subside.
Do not attempt voice training or singing for the next 2 weeks.Avoid drinking fluids of extreme temperature -too hot or too cold.
Stop smoking (if you usually do) and stop attempting to clear your throat by 'ahem-ing' or coughing as this worsens inflammation.
You will notice your voice gradually returning to normal.

Other Answers:
maybe you need to rest it ,as it has had a trauma!
Do you mean someone backhanded your neck? Or did you give birth to a breech baby? Maybe time went by, we all change as time goes by.
if things are fine, then you need to rest you voice.

Frank Sinatra once damaged his voice while singing on stage. He had to rest his voice for sometime and was told by his GP not to speak to help the healing process.

It is very important to rest your voice to help it heal properly. Also I would advise you to seek medical advice as they might have something that could help you. And if you smoke, try to cut down for a while.
