Will health care cost bankrupt America?

For example: In the late 80s to early 90s a colonoscopy from the local hospital was around 800 dollars and people were nearly uninsured. Now a much higher percentage of people are insured(around here) and the price is 4,000-7,000 dollars for the same procedure. This means that the out of pocket price for consumers is 800-1,400 dollars. It seems that the greed of a market society that builds on the market equilibrium price and a third party payer system will bankrupt consumers who rely on insurance. The uninsured are really in a pickle if they need anything.
One more comment is that the quality of health care seems to have declined when now days most doctors are practicing under the guidance of lawyers instead of scientific knowledge.

here in australia we have got medicare if u can't afford the full price and r on a pension the governement will pay also private u partly pay but if u want it cheaper or free and can afford to wait its free or a small fee to pay i suppose we r lucky yet people still complain i receive free accupuncture free visits by my doctor the medical centre wich i attend does bulkbilling which means medicare/governement pays from the taxes everybody pays
