Will a pinched nerve in bottom of foot go away on its own?

Question:
I have a tingling sort of slight electrical shock feeling on the underside of my one foot, which goes up to the big toe. It's not pain at all, though. I asked a doctor & was given info that there's really nothing you can do for this except take medicine if there's pain (which there's not), but to let it heal itself. Also, that it's ok to walk on (no movement would make it stiff), just not overdo it.
With all these facts, is there anything I can do to heal this quicker?

Answers:
Quite truthfully - I'm surprised at your doctor's answer. I was told (professionally) that anytime there is a 'pinch nerve' of any sorts - you have something somewhere on your body out of place. Of course that could be how my chiropractor is so rich! Maybe you can go on a site for herbs and see what they suggest. A lot of people really live and breathe on herbs for healing.
Probably not. You should consider having your foot amputated.
