anyone out who severed a nerve that caused ...?

Question:
lost of function and feeling in the hand and regained it back after surgery over a course of 6-12months?

Answers:
I haven't had it happen to me personally, but I've seen many patients treated for it. Yes! You can get much or all of your functioning back. Like I said yesterday... stick to your physical therapy schedule and do the exercises they teach you as much as you can. A lot of the progress is made by how devoted you are to helping the process.

Although you may get a lot of responses to this question, please try to remember that everyone has different experiences. Not all surgeries, doctors, physical therapists, healing processes, or the amount of effort made by the patient, will be the same as yours. Even if they've had the exact same injury. Age, diet, general health, physical condition, and willingness to comply with the programs set by both doctor and physical therapist are all individual factors that make each instance different.

Typing is probably a good exercise. Hope you're doing it with two hands :o)
As a welder
, I had a grinding disc cut halfway through my left wrist. after three and on half hrs of micro surgery and some therapy, I now have a very strange sensation on the back of my left hand. Although it is partially numb, it is also ultra sensitive. When I asked the Doc about this, he told me that although a lot of nerves were damaged and dead, the live ones became extra sensitive to make up for the dead ones. Therefore, numb and ultra sensitive, at the same time.
