Can claritin cause acid reflux?

Question: I just recently started having a bad case of acid reflux and I noticed it started about the same time I started taking the allergy medicine claritin. I'm not sure this is even logical but I'm giving it a shot.

Answers:
I take allegra, which is another antihistamine (still prescription, sadly) but if I take it on an empty stomach I get 10 different kinds of nauseous and acidy. I guess it's not a stretch to think that the claritin might be giving you issues. Try taking it in the morning with some sort of bread. As long as I have my bagel with the allegra I'm fine all day.
