my contacts hurt my eyes every time i put them in and take them out?

Question:
I've been wearing contacts since 1999 when I was 15,going on 16.Well for some reason for the past 8 months, it hurts my eyes to put them in.But they're just fine once they in.My eyes are just too dry to take them out and put them in..I'm not sure why my eyes are so dry when I didnt have a problem before.I told my eye doctor the last time I went in and I got the hydra clear from acuvue. So I am thinking of getting the osasis the next time I'm able to afford to get my eyes checked. If that might help..

Answers:
i had this exact problem last week
my eyes are always dry, and my contacts sting whenever i put them in
i got lazy since i've had my contacts so long, but what you need to do is wash your hands and rinse your contacts really well before you put them in...i swear it will make a world of difference

before you put them in, do your normal rubbing and cleaning, and rinse them with a sterile saline solution or whatever you normally use...just let it pour over your contacts for a few seconds. make sure everything is clean...it seems like common sese, but we all cut corners.

Other Answers:
Why not just phone your doctor, ask the nurse there what to do.
Well, you ARE sticking your finger in your eye...lol...seriously tho, eyes tend to become a little drier as you grow older.
Call your eye doctor. Get checked for Fuch's Disease.
Do you use disposable contacts? cause if you do, its time you change it & get new ones. When i use the same contacts for a long period of time, they tend to dry up quicker & hurt my eyes. Also check your contact & look carefully to see if there is any tiny snicks or cuts in them, cause that really irritates the eyes & HURTS really bad. I cant really afford getting new contacts either, so i take really good care of whichever contacts i am using. That extends the use of the contacts. Also if you have disposable contacts, i think you`re spose to throw them away & use the newer ones every ummm..i think around 3 weeks or something like that? i dont know but the better you take care of it, the longer it last. Goodluck
when did u get ur lens?r they old now?usualy doctors ask ppl to change it once every 2yrs.so check that out.or may be u sud jus try to give it for cleaning.that might help i guess.
Have you tried eye drops for dry eye? You can buy OTC drops that are preservative free (NOT visine) - systane makes some great ones but make sure they say they are preservative free - otherwise the preservatives will bind to your contact lenses and ruin them. You can use the drops anytime - with your contact lenses in, before you put them in, etc.
Be sure that when you use the "no rub" solution you are actually following the directions. What people don't realize is it says to spray the lenses with solution for about 5 seconds - this wastes solution so it's better for you to put solution on your lens in your hand and rub it - like before.
