My knee buckled can someone tell me if I injured it bad?

It sounds like you bruised or even partially tore your medial collateral ligament and/or the medial meniscus. Try this: sit down and plant your left foot firmly in front of you, then move your knee to the right and see if it hurts. If so then that is what happened and you should go easy on it for a week. If it is still tender after that you should see a physical therapist to help in recovery.

It might be nothing, but it could be that you stretched something more than it should be stretched too. Talk to a doctor that specializes in sports injuries or joint problems.

Try and have someone stabilize your upper thigh in a (Flat on your back with knees bent position) Have the second person ( kneeling at your feet) take both of their hands around your calf as high as they can before touching your knee. You must relax. Have them try to pull your knee toward them. Not to hard. If your knee shifts forward in the socket you have a positive anterior draw test. See your doctor for therapy and an ACL repair. Knee weakness and bucking can often be due to a weak vastus medialis oblique (VMO) muscle on the inner part of your thigh, just above your knee. When the thigh muscle is tensed, it should form a tear-drop shape. This muscle is responsible for stabilizing the knee during the first 30 degrees of knee bend and also for stabilizing the knee cap (patella).
Just try icing it for now - 10 minutes every hour to reduce the swelling. Apply an ACE bandage or similar to help support. Keep it elevated when sitting down to help reduce swelling.
If it does not improve in 3-5 days, go to your doctor for an evaluation then ask for a referral to a physical therapist. We can then evaluate it further to determine what the problem is. I would not try doing any tests on the knee yourself - you could cause further injury. Leave it to the professionals!
