I have a Charlie Horse. . .?

Question:
I got it 2 weeks ago and it is still sore. I am not sure how to get the pain to go away? I massaged it and everything I don't know what else to do. HELP!

Answers:
A charlie horse isn't usually sore -- it's a spasm that tightens your calf muscle to an extent that your toes are in a funny position. If this is what is happening to you continually, you may have a vitamin deficiency or be dehydrated. You should probably see your GP though. For immediate relief, step on someting very cold (sounds weird, but it works!)

If you just have a soreness in your calf that won't go away, you may have pulled or possibly even tore a muscle. This can take several weeks to heal. Alternate cold and heat, take ibuprofen for the discomfort, and try not to exert that leg too much (walking is fine -- just no weight lifting, etc.)

If your muscle is still no better in a week or so, you may want to contact your doctor -- though there's not much that can be done except for physical therapy.
Try Bengay...it really works! And drink Tonic water.
