tell me whats wrong with this kid?????????????

Question:

i have a 19 month old nephew who can not eat anything other than baby food. my sister has tried everything and the doctors have yet to be of any help. he can eat anything that is in a liquid form but the sec somthing solid touches the back of his throat up it comes. has anyone else ever seen or heard of anything like this. this is not a joke HELPFUL ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE. THANKS.

Unfortunately the doc.'s will say nothing is wrong if the kids weight is normal and he doesn't have any diagnosed medical and/ or developmental problems that would cause this. This problem has been seen before and a lot of times the child has milk and/ or food allergies that has caused rashes and problems with reflux. The child has simply not wanted or cant tolerate solids. Because of not being able to tolerate solids at a early age it will delay the onset of normal chewing and swallowing.Sometimes when a parent waits too long to introduce solids it can be a issue(such as with breastfeeding at a late age). Doc.s say that slowly and eventually the child will learn how to chew and sometimes occupational therapy can help. If all tests have come back negative then just try to be patient and he should eventually want to eat solids(and loose the habit of throwing up when feeling the texture of solids).

he could have something wrong with his esophagus so your sister/brother may want to take him to a specialist.
