Health insurance help?
Question:
I live in California.. please let me know if you know of any.
thank you!
Answers:
It depends on what you mean by inexpensive. That is, inexpensive could mean low monthly payments. However, if it doesn’t provide the financial protection you need or the access to the kind of care you want, having the insurance really won’t justify the lower payments. The first step in finding affordable health insurance is finding out exactly what you want from a health plan.
Basically, health plans differ in three basic ways:
•monthly price/annual deductible
•access to health care (the degree to which you can visit whom you like and undergo medical treatment a specialist thinks you need)
•financial strength of the insurance company
I’ve included a link below to state insurance departments where you can do a little research if you like; the state also keeps records of customer complaints so you can get a better idea of how happy people are with a health plan you are considering. You might also want to check out Consumers Reports and US News&World Reports Rankings to get some opinions about high-quality health plans (link below). I’ve also linked to a couple of online articles that do a good job of explaining health insurance and what to look for in a new health plan and I’ve linked to Families USA.
The California Insurance department has a pdf you can download that is a simple and practical checklist that might help you quickly compare and contrast plans you might be considering (link below).
It’s going to be tough to get coverage for your pregnancy, but there are ways you can minimize the money you spend. The possibilities include free clinics, county health departments, Planned Parenthood, using a birthing center instead of a hospital, and state programs for women’s health insurance (all links below).
Here are some questions to ask about a new prenatal and pregnancy health plan:
•Does it cover prenatal care?
•What prenatal tests are covered?
•What kind of delivery do you want to have and which types are covered?
•Is anesthesia covered?
•Does it cover nursery costs?
•Are sick and well-baby visits covered?
•How much are co-payments, if there are any?
•How much is the deductible?
•Ask to determine how much your bill would be if you used the insurance
To get a lot of information quickly, try getting in touch with local insurance agents through MostChoice.com. There’s no cost or obligation, and you can also view instant free quotes on health plans available near you.

Look into Blue Cross. They have some REALLY good plans out there for people in your situation, but be careful, pregnancy can be seen as a pre-existing condition.
You cant buy insurance while being pregnant.
keep the one with your employer until you have the baby 'cause i think it'll be too hard to find inexpensive insurance now that you're pregnant.maybe I'm wrong
You may have to stick with your employer until at least after the baby is born and maybe a few months after that in case of any emergencies. I am not sure how much it is costign you through your employer but generally it is cheaper doing it that way than to buy it on your own.
Come to Canada..We got free health care and it is nice..
http://mybenefitsplus.com/40436527. click the box on the left that says new medical program. It's $49.95 per month and it covers RX, dr visits, labs, hospital stays, and much more. Also, pre- existing conditions are covered, including pregnancy.
I would stick with what you have because a pregnancy may be viewed as a pre-existing condition. Before you choose, be sure to list what you want out of an insurance and then list your top 5 things. The reason I say this is because every insurance is different and what is important to you may not be as i,portant to someone else who recommends a certain insurance. Get the book "Healthcare for Less" by Michelle Katz at www.amazon.com, it will help you get through this process and save you a lot of time and money by giving you focused thins to look at as well as some great tips...good luck.
There's a company out there that helps people who do not have and need affordable health benefits. It includes regular office visits, any specialists and even pre-existing conditions including pregnancy. It basically includes anything and everything you need help paying for. Their medical plan includes dental, vision, prescription and chiropractic benefits as well. There's no high premiums, deductibles, co-pays, waiting periods, claims forms or anything like that at all. They can save you up to 80% on your out of pocket expenses for a very small fee every month. It could end up saving you a lot of $$ over traditional insurance. Try this website and you can check out the specifics and providers in your area. http://www.everyonebenefits.com/40424269. If your provider isn't on there, he can be added. They are a wonderful company and are members of the BBB. I have benefits through them as well. Hope you find what you need. Please email me if you have any questions, and I'd be happy to help you if I can. Best of luck.
