Is it normal for blood pressure cuffs to leave marks?

Question:
I have just had by blood pressure taken and it really hurt, several hours later i still have marks on my arm. The marks look like blood blisters under the skin. My doctor did not seem bothered. Is this normal.

Answers:
The cuff was pumped too high. The marks should go away, similar to a bruise. You shouldn't worry about it.
This is common, especially if your blood pressure is high and they had to inflate the cuff longer. I've had bruises from blood pressures being taken
