Read years ago: piece of endocrine system (traffic control station) buried behind heart muscle. Anyone know?

Question: Was either NYT or WSJ about 15 yrs ago. It shocked researchers, they had no idea. have found no reference to it.

Answers:
The heart produces two hormones: atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP). Therefore, it is considered by some to be part of the endocrine system. Is this what you mean?
