This site seems to have a fair bit of info on walking aids but if you type "walking aids" into google you'll be inundated with sites. You could probably get further info from your local PCT or related charities.
Must say i sympathisewith you plight, did health and social care myself and have never been so bored in my life, until i became an accountant! lol
walking aids are such things as zimmer frames, crutches, walking sticks and the likes
