Help. My grandmother is beginning to really worry me!?

Question:
Recently, she's been feeling really ill for a various reasons, and today, she's been taken into hospital and I'm getting calls from litterally everyone asking if I know anything. At the moment, we're lead to believe that it's likely she's had a ministroke.

The thing thats worrying me is that she can't see sense to call an ambulance, or at the very least a doctor whenever she feels anything. The first person she will call is my mum, which I can understand, but I wish we could get her to see that it's better to call an ambulance as they can help immediately. It doesn't matter if it's nothing major, it's better to find out than suffer.

Does anyone have any ideas on how we can get her to see this path being better? She's always saying she doesn't want to put anyone else out of their way.

Answers:
Try to explain to her that if she doesn't call the ambulance, she will be putting her family in a far worse position if something bad happened to her, than if she didn't. I understand where she is coming from. Not wanting to take a ambulance from someone who is very very hurt, but she should try to think about what would happen if she doesn't call. It is very difficult when our grandparents live by themselves. I wish I had the means to have my Grandmother live with us. Then I could take care of her. Best of Luck.
theres not much you can do really as she is worried about bothering people.
However now your grandma has had this stroke the docs will keep a close eye on her health, and fingers crossed this wont happen again.

Good luck
they are like that. they think of others more than themselves and i never figured it out myself how to get it in thier heads that its ok so i guess its impossible. tell her better to get help b4 it gets worse. tell her prevention is better than cure quote. hopefully she understand and tell her how scared she makes u. u need to tell her and cry so she may understand how u feel when she wont tell u wots goin on.dunno if it helps but try! u never knw it m ight wrk!
