If I drink gatoraid instead of water on a regular basis, is it still possible to get kidney stones?

This is a classic case of how the advertisement rules.
Gatorade (Watch spelling) is nothing but sugar water with dissolved minerals. It has a variety of salts which you really do not need that much unless you profusely sweat like an athlete does during a vigorous game. Heavy salt consumption leads to kidney disease and heart trouble.(hypertension)
Other than that, plain old cold, refreshing, clean, sparkling water from your kitchen faucet will be just plenty.
Don't fall for the bottled water either. Once again it is all ads. They push it and people buy it and drink 'em blindly. Municipal water is just fine.
Coke, sprite or whatever.........stay the heck away from them. They are sugar water, with phosphoric acid to create more thirst and have you addicted to their colored, caremalized sugared water. It does not do anything more special than a good ol' glass of water.
Word to the wise..........stay with Water for your health's sake.
Ive had several in the past. My urologist told me that it doesnt matter what Im drinking, as long as it isnt milk. Just drink plenty of whatever it is you drink. Gatotade is safe.
