I got kicked in the head yesturday and hit my head again today.?

Question:
Yesturday while I was taking a martial arts class my best friend accidently kicked me in the head fairly hard. I had a head ache for the rest of the day. This morning just after I woke up I walked into a doorframe and hit my head again. I have the worst headache that I've ever had. There is some bruising where I got kicked yesturday and where I hit my head today. Does anyone know why my head hurts so badly?

Answers:
I must admit when I saw your question I laughed. But after reading all of the question I see that you might have a concussion or something. If your head still hurts tomorrow morning I suggest you go see a professional and get yourself checked out.

Other Answers:
You might want to invest in an helment.
Get somebody to whack your head with a 2x4 and see how that feels. At this point you might actually like it.

Could be a few things, closed head injury with active bleeding would be the most serious. Could be, as stated before, post-concussive syndrome. (got a concussion) I would advise a CT scan to rule out serious injuries. However, by the length of time since the injury, an active bleed is unlikely. Do not take blood thinning pain relievers (aspirin) just in case. In any case, you should see a competent MD to assure that it is safe for you to continue to participate martial arts. Any symptomatic (dizziness, headache, unconciousness) head injury really needs to be evaluated by an MD before resuming normal activities. Hope I've helped you a little bit. Good luck in martial arts
