alcohol abuse?


Question:
hi my partner has finaly admitted he has a drink problem, although i've suspected for a while.
i really want to help him now, has anyone got any suggestions, i'v already tipped all alcohol down sink and said i wont drink either (i'm not a big drinker only when out or wine with dinner), we dont want to tell anyone if we can so i doesnt lose his job

(I like the idea of never being more than 12 steps away from the alcohol, but that's not going to help you :)

You can talk with your doctor for alternatives. If your partner is serious about it he might consider taking a medication called "antabuse" or disulfiram. This medicine inhibits one of his body enzymes that metabolises alcohol and if he drinks alcohol then he would get quite sick! However, it relies on him being serious about it and taking the medication.
Tell him NOT to believe the hype drinking alcohol will NOT make him look big cool hard or clever. They will have his Cash and he will have there overall poor health if he continues to drink. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE. Drink sucks.
