I am abut to get my leg cast of how do I strengthen my leg in one month?


I am starting middle school and I don't want to be the only sixth grader there limping because of no strength in my leg. And we don'thave lockers and the school is three stories high and I might not be able to get up the flights of stairs to get to second period with one heavy english book.

Ask your doctor when the cast is taken off. He or she can give you the correct exercises or send you to a physical therapist.

You shouldn't be limping.
Swim with that leg... warm water will help loosen up the muscles and get your legs stronger.
Ask your doctor for a script for physical therapy if you are worried about limping. They can give you strengthening exercises.
Start biking.
Those things will help you get stronger right after you get out of your cast.
You will be fine. You are young, and you will healh quickly.
Give it one week and you will see a great difference....

Whats your favorite thing to do when your stressed?


Your doctor should have told you to do exercises while the cast is still on. Mine did. I had a full-length cast and he said to exercise the muscles every day. Sit on sofa or chair and lift your leg, cast and all, up and down. While doing these, tighten your leg muscles all the way down, upper leg muscle, knee muscle, lower leg muscle.

PS. I did not exercise it well, and my left thigh is still a little smaller after 30 years. Muscles atrophy very rapidly.

First, your doctor will get you the exercises you need, and most likely refer you to Physical Therapy.
Second, with new Federal Americans With Disabilities laws, your school cannot be three stories without provisions for those handicapped for access. This includes getting to the areas desired, leaving the areas safely, and an emergency means of egress. So don't give us the boo hoo story about having to climb steps with crutches.

When my cast came off (and actually entirely during, but I wasn't supposed to {hush}) I swam. Swimming is not hard on any of the bones and at the same time strengthens all the muscles around the muscle. Amazing. I also rode my bike alot afterwards. And, did ballet (yoga has the same results.) good luck.

if you wanne be awake all over the night what should you drink?


You will have a slight limp but this is only because the leg has been weakened from being in the cast. if you have any leg weights that you can strap onto the leg while you walk, this will give you a good workout and help to strengthen the muscle. Also try doing leg lifts with weights on. You may also try calf strengthening muscles by standing flat on your foot and pushing up on the toes of your foot.

i'm in 8th grade and i just got my cast off yesterday(friday) and i started school last monday...now it hurts!!!

you will get a set of excerise and go to rehab to bulid up the leg and you will have to use a cane while you recup and it helps ask the dr. and ask the school to see if they can use a tutor for you for the class.
