I've been getting headaches? How can I find out what's causing them?

Headaches are normally associated with a chemical imbalance. You are right , Doctors don't want to find the reason because they are not trained to do that. They are trained to give you more drugs. My suggestion is to cut back on refined sugars, and junk foods. Eat whole organic foods as much as possible and drink only bottled water. I also suggest a chiropractic adjustment to begin the release of toxins in your body which is probably causing the headaches. It will take three weeks to completely rid you of the headaches but you will start to notice results immediately after beginning this life change.

Good luck! I suffer from migraines and I have had CAT scans and MRIs and they still don' know what is wrong with me.
Go to an optometrist and get your eyes checked, that could be causing it. Or go to your family practioner and make them listen, it is possible, I got through with my migraines. You just have to stand your ground with them.
Keep the following diaries to determine what is causing your headaches.
Food, Menstrual Periods, Stress Levels. See if you are able to determine a pattern.
I get headaches regularly but they're usually doozies... For you, I would suggest making a "headache" diary so that you can find out if there are triggers that are common to when you do get a headache... Example, when you get a headache episode, you should write in the diary, when it happened, where you are when it happened, the overall environment (like is the weather humid, hot, cold, etc.), what were you doing right before you felt the pain, what did you eat before the headache, etc etc etc... In so doing, you may be able to see signs and triggers that may actually cause the ache which when you do, you can thereafter avoid...
You will need to keep a diary... either buy a plain notebook or a cheap calendar.
Then record each time you get a headache, rate it 0-10 with 0 being no pain & 10 being extreme, then also note if you perhaps ate something (wine, chocolate, pizza, chinese food) were reading or working on the computer... if it was raining, or weather was about to change, if you were going to get your period, if you were stressed, upset etc.
You will probably need to keep this diary for at least a month, if not 2-3 months to start to see a pattern...
Then you can start to see for yourself what your triggers are... and then you can take it into your doctor to show it to him/her.
we do this all the time in my office
sometimes you can't get rid of the problem, like rain or your period, or homework/computer work, but you can find ways to adapt to it, or know that every time it rains or you get your period you will get a headache, so you'll have to take medicine... or get an adjustment (im a chiropractor) or a massage...
hope this helps
