why there are no males in nursing line, are they not compassionate and capable?

Question:
as patients are increasing day by day, we find shortage and nurses without patience.

Answers:
I don't know where you are from but in the US there are quit a few male nurses; In fact, my stepson is in his 2nd year of nursing school right now. He is in his early 30's and this is a career change for him. Nursing used to be a "Traditionally" female career but that has been changing in the past few years. For a long time it was condsidered (wrongly) that if a male went into nursing there must be something wrong with him, ie; he's gay or not smart enough to be a doctor.

Other Answers:
There are males in nursing, you just don't see them as often. When I had my baby, the best nurse I had in the Mother&Baby wing was a male. Very compassionate, very respectful.

When people find out how much money nurses make( my friend makes 56 dollars a hour in Calif.). I think you'll find plenty of males going into nursing There are many men in the nursing proffession. It varies by area though. Personally I don't care the sex of my nurses as long as there comppasionate, and know what there doing.

Yeah, mostly due to the social stigma that nursing is exclusively a female profession. It has started changing in recent years though

Some of the best nurses I've worked with were males. And very supportive and respectfull of their female patients. Although there are some jerks too just like some female nurses. People are people.
