My upper back hurts when I breathe deeply, am I sick?

Question:
I had a back injury 3 months ago, but it was in my lower back. Within the last few days I have had some back pain that starts around the shoulder blades and moves upwards. Today I'm noticing when I stand up it is uncomfortable to breathe, I don't feel like myself, I'm more pale in the face than usual and I may have had a fever the past two days. Even sitting here at my desk is beginning to hurt. I tried "popping" my back but I can't even get my back/neck to do that. Do I need seek medical attention? How quickly?

Answers:
Stretch your arms out and breathe. If you experience pain then it could possibly be a pulled muscle. Do you have a cough? Most of the symptoms you are describing do sound like pneumonia. See your Dr today if possible. You really should be seen within the next 24 hours. They may be able to listen to your lungs and diagnose a resp illness or may order chest xray. If you have a resp infection early treatment can reduce the amount of time you are down and out.

Other Answers:
Sounds like pneumonia or some other lung ailment. Get a chest x-ray
Could be anything from the way your walking after your surgery to pneumonia call the Dr
Go to the doctor soon. Sounds like bronchitis or even an infection of the cartilage between your ribs. I had that once. It hurt, but the doc healed me up.
Good luck!
