How do I cure a scratch/scrape?

Question:
I would like to know step by step how to cure a scratch/scrape. I just went for my Roller Blading Speed Lesson and I had a hard fall, my one knee has a big scrape and I know I should clean it. After that, should I keep it open, put some kind of balm on it or what? It would be a great help cause it's stinging a lot. Thanks.

well first i would clean the scrape/wound with proxide then dry it off and put some antibotic ointment on it and dependin on how bad it i would put a bandage on it and i recommend the telfa pad bandages, wont stick to the wound, if it is just a little scrap still put the ointment on it and let it air out and keep it very clean
NeoSporin with pain relief is the best thing to use. It is an anti biotic and relieves pain at the same time. You can put a band-aid on it also. You should buy knee guards at a sporting goods store.
well its not that hard.
wash it off.
put some Neosporin on it.
put a bandage on it.
ta da.
You have choices with cleaning agents. Soap and water works and 1/2 water mixed with 1/2 hydrogen peroxide (mixed with water makes it less drying). Open to air at this point and apply triple antibiotic ointment which is cheaper that neosporin and is the same thing essentially. The ointment covers exposed nerve endings so that the stinging is minimized. Good luck.Get better soon.
have your mommy kiss it and make it better
1. Wash area gently with soap and water.
2. Pat dry thoroghly.
3. Get a 4" X 4" sterile gauze patch.
4. Apply first aid cream or macurchrome to the scrape.
5. Cover area with Gauze patch.
6. With first aid tape, tape patch down.
7. For first 2 days, remove current patch and go back to step 3 and do this at least twice a day.
8. On day 3 examine area. If redness or puss appears go to doctor.
Neosporin and a bandaid will prevent scaring and ease the pain some you may want to take a tylenol for pain too. If you leave it uncovered and allow a scab to form you will probably have a scar. At the very least you need to put Neosporin on it to prevent infection.
Different ppl have different ways of cleaning/healing scraps and scratches. The way i would do it would be just to clean it with an antibacterial solution; or peroxide. Apply some Anti-bacterial ointment. Only if it bleeds put a Band-Aide on the scrape. Otherwise leave it open b/c it'll dry out quicker. (which makes the healing process faster). Other than thoes few things make sure the scrape is clean All of the time.
