HELP! there is a small lump on my back?

Please help me. i have a small lump about the size of a pea. it is like on the left of my spine in the middle of my back. I am going to the doctors soon to get it checked out. I am really worried coz it could be cancerus (sp?) . I think i hav had a teeeeny lump there for a long time but i never thought it was bad. It is sore when i touch it and is like inside me. please help me.

first of all, take a deep breath, it could be a lot of things, don't jump to the conclusion of cancer, you'll just worry yourself. it could be a cyst or just a blockage of the skin folicles or something else. There's no point in worrying if you don't know what it is so just try and relax for the time being

You are a hypochondriac. Sounds like a small cyst or over grown pimple or something. calm down. Your fine.

Dude, how can I help you? Go to the doctor, especially if it is sore. And don't worry, if it is skin cancer it;s perfectly treatable and with no risks. Except if it's melanoma, that is a little more serious.

How long has it been there? It could possibly be a pimple or a boil. Some things to consider:

Cancer is not rounded, it is uneven.
Cancerous lumps are painless(most of the time).

worse case, at the hospital they would do a scrap and run tests.

Don't worry too much, if its just the size of the pea. Chances are its just a wart or something, but if it really is cancerous, i don't think its in a metastasis stage and that it can easily be removed.

But good thing to have it checked. Relax. :)

I have a lump on my back in the middle right on my spine. It is about the size of a quarter. I went to the doctor and he said that all it is is a lipoma (a fat deposit). He said that I can have it removed, but leaving it won't hurt it. He said it may get bigger and it may not. If it starts to get bigger I should have it removed, but I have been living with the same sized lump for 7 years now and it has not bothered me at all. I wouldn't worry about it but I would have it looked at anyway.
