how do you know if you pop a blood vessel?

Question: i was jumping on a trampolin and hit my wrist on one of the springs. one part of my wrist got red and puffy how do you tell if its a popped blood vessel

if its at the surface, it turns into a blood blister. below can cause dark bruising. deep ones will look like dvt blood clots with a red rash looking racing stripe along the area.
