it can cause inner ear infection, if you try to push it down in the ear you may blow the ear drum always keep your ears clean with q-tips for healthy ears

It can if it gets packed in. It's very painful. You can use alcohol in your ear everyday to make sure it doesn't harden. And ear candles work great too. But q-tips can just pack it in more.
