Sorry to hear that you are having problems sleeping at night. Sounds to me that you are having a problem with an over active mind. Here is a couple of solutions. You can try cutting back on the amount of caffeine that you have during the day. I know that alot of people drink coffee, tea, or soda (pop, cola, etc.). All of these things contain a pretty good amount of caffeine. Give yourself a cut off time during the day or early evening where you don't drink any of these beverages. Another thing that you can try is take a hot bath and just soak and relax. If you have tried this and it doesn't seem to work then try this. There is an over the counter dietary supplement that you can take called Melatonin. It helps to bring things into balance. Your brain naturally produces this as it goes into sleep mode. However, you can not produce enough. It will take some time for it to build up into your system and the good news is that it is not very expensive to purchase and it is 100% vegetarian. I know that my boyfriend who suffers from the same problem takes it and it works for him.

you may try to make yourself tired and try not to think of things wehn you go to bed.. i personally have to take some sleeping aids to help me sleep.they have some over the counter that is not habit forming at all..you need to relax and try not to think of things and let tomorrow come and deal with whatever you have to deal with..
i occaisionally have this problem. It is usually easier after a few drinks and a good getting off, but without that, i buy sleeping pills. Sleep aid, usually tylenol p.m. or something similar. I use the pain relief plus sleep aid. works like a charm.
