If it is a family pet, none unless they have some sort of disease that can be transmitted to humans, or if they are agressive and can potentially harm the mother. Relax, pet dogs are a wonderful relaxant for an expecting mommy.

All of my children have been born in homes with dogs, cats and birds. My Dr. said that there is no known risks unless the mother suffers from animal allergies.
