Does anyone know about warnings issued by the Thai government regarding intestinal parasites found in Tom Sam?

Question:
I have been told by a friend that he had read an article in an English medical review (of course he cannot remember which) regarding people in Thailand having intestinal parasites as a result of eating Tom Sam. As I have also eaten this I am curious to learn more about it however I have failed to find any relevent information on the internet. Any help would be appreciated, I am looking for general info, detection methods, name of parasite(s) and treatment. Thank you very much.

Answers:
Do you mean Som Tam (tum)?
Som Tam is traditionally papaya salad with dry shrimp, peanuts, fish sauce, lime, sugar and green bean type vegetable. However, there are variations with other ingredients such as mango, apple, carrot, crabs, etc. So I think the only possible source of parasite might be the river crabs! in addition to the usual organisms in the vegetables.
Sure enough! I found the below reference.
If you have other kinds of som tum without the river crabs, your chance of getting parasites is not very high.
Good luck!
