My heart feels like it is thumping every so many beats?

Question: In the middle of the night I was woken with the thumps - it is more like a large thump and then normal - it has been doing it all day - what the heck is it? It almost feels like adreneline rush but only one beat.

It is also caused by caffeine and other stimulants like pot.See your doctor because this could lead into panic or anxiety disorder if it is brought on by stress.
