diagnosis code 999.0 is this a valid code?

Question: i have a claim that denied for that diag code

I looked this code up in my ICD-9 book and it is a valid code. Be aware though, for some reason these codes seem to change every year. We have to get a new code book every year. I would call the insurance company and ask them what code they are using for the diagnosis that you were given. Then call the doctor's office and ask them to re-submit the claim with the new code.

Call the doctors office and find out what it is. Not all codes on every ones doctors receipts are the same. Or call the insurance company and ask a claims Representative.
