After sutures/stiches are removed, how do you know if you need to go back to the doc's?
Question:
Answers:
"pucker" could refer to a small area opening up. This is not usually a problem and a scant amount of bleeding or clear fluid may "leak" from the area where the sutures were removed. BUT, if you have redness, firmness, yellow drainage, excessive bleeding, odor, or run a fever, you need to immediately seek further medical attention.
Other Answers:
If the site is opening up you need to see your doctor. Until you can see your doctor you should use butterfly bandages to keep the wound closed as best you can. If you don't go to the doctor you will take the chance of infection in that area and then they will have to amputate (psych). Seriously tho', go to the doc!
i think puckering means it will swell a little bit, i think if it starts opening and visibly bleeding you definitely need to go back
I would call and ask your doctor. If you see alotta swelling or pussiness I would go.
