What is wrong with my ear?

Question:
Ok. Since I was little I've had ear infections (who hasn't, right). I remember after getting over the infections I'd stick things in my ear. It started with pencils...dull not sharp. Well after a few times hitting my ear drum (very painful) I stopped. But I went to rolling up paper towel, tissue and toilet paper and sticking it in my ear. And the feeling is almost better than sex. I still do this from time to time. It's like I'm addicted to the feeling. It's been going on since I was little until now. (I'm 26) I'm still doing it. I don't feel any threat. I can still hear. But why can't I stop? Even talking about playing in my ear makes me want to do it. I've never seen anyone with the same quirk as me. But do you think it's ok? They say you shouldn't stick anything in your ear smaller than an elbow but the feeling is wonderful. Any thoughts?

Answers:
People have quirks...just be careful that what you stick in there won't hurt you (either through infection or damaging your ear drum).

People stick things in their orifices all the time. The guy next to me at the office sticks things in his nose all the time...eww...
