I have lower back and middle back pain. I have had two epidurals.?

Question:
It hurts when I lay on my back or stomach and then I get up and move. ecspecially when I arch my back. The pain is mainly in my middle back (where the epidural was at) It's like a shooting pain through my back. And it gives me a shortness of breath. I have been to a chiropractor in between the 2 pregnancies. My back was out of allignment but it didn't help with the sharpness of pain and shortness of breath.

Answers:
I had this same problem after the birth of my 2nd son. Indeed it was leaking from the insertion point and the way they treated it was to take Vivarin. It shrinks the puncture hole so that the leaking ,which can cause headaches and foot drop and all kinds of stuff, subsides. Sometimes it requires an outpatient surgery to stop the leakage but the Vivarin helped me. By the way, I work for a Chirpractor. I didn't believe in them until this episode but she was the one that told me Aabout the Vivarin then adjusted me from misalignment during birth. Different D.C.'s adjust in different ways so I would encourage you to shop around and only use a D.C. that uses the PALMER method. Chiro's have more classroomtime in Anatomy and Physiology so they know things that most "regular" docs don't learn unless it is their specialty. This is not to say that M.D.s are bad, they're not, but Chiros literally touch every single part of a body before thay graduate.

Other Answers:
Quit the chiropractor & go to a doctor before you get into more serious trouble. Be very careful lifting. Use your thigh muscles. Lifting heavy babies doesn't help. Good health to you1
I would recommend two things.... check with the doctor who did the epidurals and get an answer from him/her... then find a different chiropractor should the anesthesiologist not have a satisfactory answer or solution. Might want to check and see if there is any leakage from the insertion point. For your information, that chiropractor has earned his doctorate degree. He just doesn't treat with drugs..
