Too many panic attacks led to BP meds?

Question:
I was having panic attack after panic attack which caused my heart rate to stay at 100+ on resting. During panic attacks it would reach 130-160. They did ekg's and it was fine exceot for the fast heart rate. My BP had become elevated because of all the anxiety and panic mostly readings between 130/85-140/90
They put me on a beta blocker for my BP and heart rate. Has anyone experienced this from panic and anxiety?
How are things now?

Answers:
Beta blockers are also used to treat panic attacks with the side benefit of helping blood pressure. Nothing unusual there. Not a surprise when you have a panic attack, bp goes up; the same thing would happen to bp if someone scared you. Many people DO get off blood pressure medications that were prescribed for bp if they lose weight, change diet etc and it successfully lowers bp. However, many people have genetic predisposition to increased bp in which case some people stay on them for life.which is no big deal. Also, if your panic attacks are halted and bp is good; what would be the big deal for you to continue to take the meds. Would you ask a diabetic to stop taking insulin or someone with genetic heart disease to stop taking cholesterol medication. Of course not.
yes I have BP way higher than you from nerves & stress. but I refuse to take chemical drugs . I accept my fate and want only God to cure me - but no chemicals. they don't cure - & the minute you stop them your BP goes even higher than before.

remember that.
Your blood pressure is up because you are anxious. You need to chill out.
