Do I pull the knife out or leave it in?

Question:
Is there a doctor in the house?

No real-life emergency here, just curious. If I were to get stabbed or stuck on a blade or chunk of glass (hopefully by accident) is it best to leave it in until help arrives? Why or why not?

Answers:
Leave it in unless your life is in danger due to your surroundings.
The object that is protruding into your body my be closing off an artery.
Secure the object from moving by wrapping it in the cleanest material that you can find.
Apply pressure to the most inferior (towards heart) arterial pressure point till bleeding stops.
Seek medical attention immediatly.
If bleeding cannot be stopped by applying pressure to the arterial pressure point, apply a tournicut approxiamatly 2 to 4 inches above puncture site being careful not to tighten it to tight (only until bleeding stops). It takes appr. 4-6 hrs for permanent tissue damage to occur.
Yes you should leave any object stuck in you in and let a doctor remove it. It might start uncontrolled bleeding or do more damage if you try to remove it.

If you have to transport a person in that condition try to secure the object so it doesn't move around or fall out during the trip to the emergency room.
If the object is embedded deep in your limb or torso, there is a significant chance that an artery or large vein has been damaged.

Play it safe (if not in immediate danger at the scene) and leave it for the experts.
yes leave it in coz it may have hit a vein n it could cause u to bleed to death.
