my son had to go in last week with that problem, hes 8. a big swimmer.the doctor told me to put a little rubbing alcohol in his ears every time he showers or swims to dry up the water. if the water is left it will form a bacteria and could make for swimmers ear..and that hurts..i have been doing what the doctor said and my boy has been doing great! Hope this helps

The drug store has a product called Swimmer Ear. You can make it your self with some rubbing alcohol and some glycerin.. not sure of the portions.
