Glass in my foot- longer then 24 hours. Can it still come out?
Question:
Answers:
Well your best bet is to try and find it and remove it, mostly because there is always a chance of infection. However if you can't find it and its not really bothering you and its a relitively small piece it should be ok for now. Your body will probably actually work it out after a while, much like it does a sliver. But if its a bigger piece, becomes painful, red or swollen you need to hobble yourself down to the doctor's office as fast as your other foot can carry you!

No it's not too late, however you need to seek medical attention ASAP. They have the best methods, tools & treatment options. Go Now if you like your foot.
Find it as soon as possible and get it out! If you get it out yourself, please remember to clean your wound very well and apply a clean dressing over it, like some Neosporin, gauze, and an Ace bandage. Then, make sure you wash it twice a day and change the gauze each time. If you can't, please go to a doctor and have him or her do it! You seriously could be at-risk for an infection because of the dirt and germs associated with the piece of glass in your foot. Go, take care of it, now!
I see where "MAXX" suggested 'Black Tar Salve', ..never heard of it. BUT.if this piece of glass (as you say) needs to be searched for, chances are it's just a sliver. I have found on a personal basis of knowledge, if you know where the entry wound is, take a small (1 inch or so) piece of adhesive tape and press it over the entry spot. Duct tape will also do the trick. The sliver may take a day or so to surface, but it will come to the top layer of your skin and you should be able to squeeze it out by applying pressure to two sides of the entry spot. Good luck.
As for the people in NYC.Your guess is as good as mine.
