Need help with the MRI report (SCAPULA & Shoulder Report)?

Question:
I have been having pain in my left scapula (shoulder blade), and the pain radiates sometimes through my left rib. I had MRI, here is the report: Please let me know what does this mean. I am expecting some help from doctors who can understand this report:

IMPRESSION:
1) SUBCUTANEOUS EDEMA OVERLYING LEFT SHOULDER VS. ARTIFACTUAL ABNORMAL SIGNAL SECONDARY TO INHOMOGENEITY OF FAT SATURATION GRADIENCE.

2) OTHERWISE, NORMAL SCAN

Answers:
Edema means swelling. The radiologist basically is saying he is not certain that you have swelling or if the film is showing him fatty tissue that does not look alike.

Sounds like you strained your shoulder somehow.

You can look up definitions at "pubmed.com" Very good resource.

Other Answers:
Visit your doctor.

Subcutaneous edema overlying left shoulder = Swelling under the skin around the left shoulder

The rest of it is a bit beyond my medical knowledge.
