Do I have to return to work after hip surgery within 4 weeks, I am told if I dont my comp will stop.?

Question:
hip fracture happened at work

Answers:
If you're getting benefits from short-term disability, there is a time frame for the benefits to be paid.

If you're receiving Workman's Compensation payments, your state's rules about how much you'll be paid and how long you'll be paid will determine when your payments will stop.

Returning to work is something you and your doctor need to agree on. Make sure you bring the HR person from work into that conversation, so you can reach an agreement about when it's okay with your doctor, and absolutely necessary for your company to have you back.

The comp, or compensation payments need to be understood by you. Talk to the HR person at work or to your counselor at Job Service for the facts. Rumors from co-workers just cause hard feelings, and often aren't even close to true.

I would ask your doctor if she thinks you should go back after four weeks, if she says no, get a lawyer and fight it.
Maybe you could try to find out what company your employer has Worker's Compensation through and contact that insurance company. Not sure if this helps, but I'm pretty sure that there are state laws that regulate all that and it would really depend on the state which you are in. You may be able to do an online search for laws for your state. If you have a doctor's excuse, you may be entitled to more comp.
Get a lawyer, they are not allowed to make you go back to work. Consult a workmans compensation lawyer. They are using a shady tactic, and if your not ready/healed enough to return to work, they cannot cut you off, GET A LAWYER NOW!
