for those taking something for insomnia?

Question:
For anyone taking either zolpihexal or zolpidem- what kind of side-effects have you had? I have a few- it used to make me really trippy when I first started taking it, but luckily that wore off. It makes me very peckish if I don't go to sleep just after having taken it, and it can also make me nauseous if I stay up too long after taking it. I've also noticed that I'm waking up frequently at night, so I'm also wondering if there's anything anyone else can suggest that works better?

Answers:
I have been struggling with insomnia for about a month now. I tried Lunesta, it took me forever to fall asleep after I took it, then I could not get up the next morning, cause I was so tired. Not to mention the HORRIBLE taste it left in my mouth the next day. it was awful. then I tried Ambien, and it did put me right to sleep, and I slept great for about 4 hours, then I was wide awake, and could not go back to sleep. I wish you the best in finding something to help you. I guess I am off to try the next thing.
I hate to sound mean, but I hope you realize that you are asking whole bunch us bozos a question that only pharmaceutical or medical professionals are qualified to answer. I found this to be extremely foolish.
